BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu has said all wanted to see Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of the nation.

 

Speaking to the media here on Monday along with party leaders Bandaru Dattatreya, Dr Laxman and Indrasena Reddy, Venkaiah said Modi was capable of uniting all sections of people in the country. Stating that nobody opposed the candidature of Modi for Prime Minister’s post, Venkaiah said Gujarat was the only State that achieved 10 percent growth rate in the last 10 years. He said the BJP should get absolute majority in the ensuring Lok Sabha elections so that it could take bold decisions to take the country forward and ensure prosperity and development. He exuded confidence that the BJP would bag 300 Lok Sabha seats and return to power at the Centre.

‘With more than half a month still to go, the City will get only wetter. According to the Meteorological Department, the average rainfall in September in Bangalore is 211.7 mm, which the City had exceeded in the last 12 days.

Since September 1, Bangalore received 271.7 mm rain. The amount of rain received this month is the third highest in the last 27 years for this month. In 1986, the City had recorded an all-time high rainfall of 516.6 mm in September. In 2009, the City received 345.8 mm rain this month.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in the next couple of days.
Met Director B Puttanna said the City is likely to receive at least 70 mm rain in the next few days and could exceed the levels of September 2009.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Office Raided by Income Tax Officials

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma had a sudden jolt yesterday when the IT sleuths raided his office located in Millat Nagar, Andheri. RGV was taken aback with the surprise visit and was grilled for close to eight hours with enquiries about his various production houses in detail.

The IT officials could not find the records of some of his production houses including Dream Force Productions and Dream House Enterprises.Officers are suspecting that they were only there for namesake and no evidence in paper could be produced.

The director has shifted his offices to Hyderabad from Mumbai post 2008 since his productions suffered severe financial losses. Recently 132 celebrities were served notices fortax evasion and Ramu’s name was not featured in the list which led to the raid by the IT officials.

Dhoni dismantles first bike!

In a series of tweets, Dhoni shared with his over two lakh followers, photographs of the first bike that he bought – a Yamaha Rajdoot and how he dismantled the two-wheeler.
“…I don’t know who will assemble it but it was fun taking it apart,” Dhoni tweeted accompanied by pictures of the bike and then its dismantled parts.

Dhoni has a fetish for bikes and has over a dozen of them. He bought his first bike for Rs 4500 and plans to restore it.

“I think my plan of action is to restore the 1st bike tht I bought for rs4500, …its in a very bad shape,” he had tweeted last month.

He also owns a two-wheeler racing team – Mahi Racing Team which competes in the World Superbike Championship.

Dhoni will next be seen in action in the Champions League Twenty20 next month, playing for Chennai Super Kings.

‘Pizza’ Sequel Getting Ready

The movie ‘Pizza’ became a cult hit in Tamil Nadu and it gained good acclaim in Andhra Pradesh as well. The movie had Vijay Sethupathi and Remya Nambeesan in lead roles. A sequel to this film is now getting ready for release and it has been titled ‘Villa (Pizza 2)’.

The movie has Ashok and Sanchita Padukone in lead roles. Deepan R is the director. The Telugu version is going to be released by Good Cinema Group and the movie will hit the screens in the last week of September.

Santosh Nayaranan has composed the music and Deepak Kumarpadhy has handled the cinematography.

He is none other director Vamsi Paidipalli, who is directing Charan’s ‘Yevadu’. Known news is that producer Dil Raju has already picked up dates of Pawan after our hero wraps up his Gabbar Singh 2 under Sampath Nandi’s direction. It looks like Vamsi Paidipalli will be directing his fourth film again for the same producer and with Pawan in the lead. In the upcoming romantic entertainer ‘Kiss’, Adivi Sesh will be seen as a petty thief fromHyderabad. The thief believes that he is a misfit in the Indian society and decides that USA isthe best place for him. He changes his name and decides to try his luck in the USA.

That journey and what happens after he lands in the USA is what this movie is all about. Adivi Sesh and Priya Bannerjee are the lead actors in the film. The movie has been directed by Sesh himself. Sricharan Pakala has composed the music.
